Through The Woods by Emily Carroll
This was a graphic novel, it was the first graphic novel I’ve ever read. I have read manga, but I consider those to be different things. I’m happy with my choice of first graphic novel. It was more on the creepy side, I had heard that from people who had read it. I choose to read it in the light, with people around, because I just got it and wanted to read and finish it that night. Though I loved it a ton, I wish I would have waited to read it at night, while waiting to fall asleep. I didn’t find it as creepy as people had made it sound. I don’t know if that’s because I read it in the light, or if I’m just used to scary things because they are some of my favorite movies. Either way, I wish I would have waited till dark to read it. It’s a compilation of five stories, an introduction, and a conclusion. The stories are all different, but the intro and conclusion had the same person in it. It was really beautiful, I loved the drawings. The pictures and artwork were to die for, I would sit and just stare at the pages as minutes passed by admiring them. I totally recommend picking it up, especially because Halloween is coming up and it’d be a nice October read.
